What people are saying

The hunt is on for the highest calibre and hardest working unsigned bands in the UK! With 7 Compilations Cd's under our belts Whatever Next Records is proud to present 3 new Cd's In collaboration with our friends Bloodstock Open Air Festival.Bloodline CDs

Adam Fillary Managing Director says:

"Sharing our vision for the future of music has been a key part to the strong bond between Bloodstock open Air and The Rock Matrix, the company that runs Multiple regions of Bloodstock's Metal 2 The Masses, Band Quest and Whatever Next Records. Shoulder to shoulder we've built avenues and opportunities for developing artists and pushing the boundaries of whats achievable and now we are are hear doing it together."

Bloodstock founder Paul Gregory says:

Bloodstock 2012"Bloodstock has always been passionate about supporting and nurturing the bands of tomorrow by giving them a dedicated platform to perform infront of thousands of people who would never get the chance to see these incredibly talented bands otherwise. Adam Fillary has the same ethos as ourselves in supporting new Unisgned talent and the launch of the CD compilation is testimony to that and we support it whole heartedly."

Metal 2 The Masses Organiser Simon Hall says:

"This initiative means a great deal to Bloodstock as we feel its something that is overlooked by much of the music industry, but also recognise how essential this is to entice and nurture developing live and recording artists - not only to compete against the influx of entertainment offerings outside of music, but also be part of developing the bands of tomorrow."

The three CDs are earmarked for a January 2012 release in order to Coincide with the start of the New Bloodstock Metal 2 The Masses Campaign and will act as not only a device to get at least 1 band from the Cd's to play at Bloodstock irrespective of the competition but a networking tool and promotional angle for all the bands involved.

The Cds are a break-even project but the bands can expect to be added to the Altascope Magazine and profiled on our websites, whilst the Cd's themselves will be sold until we have raised £2000 for charity equally split between nominated charities by the 2 parties.

Costs incurred by bands

NB. The CD's will be financed based on approximately 25% bands contribution and 75% sales and zero profit to the record label or promoter.

Contributions are based on the following structure to make it as fair and balanced as possible.

  1. Member Fee: £5 per band member
  2. Track Fee: We will choose the final position of the track and the band will be asked to pay for the position of the track with track 1 Being £25, track 2 being £24, track 3 £23 and down to track 18 Being £8, track 19 £7 and track 20 £6. So £1 per track position staggered
  3. Track Length Levy: Any track over 4 minutes will incur a further charge of £5 per minute or ANY part thereof.
  4. Deposit: We are asking all bands to pay the returnable deposit associated with Band Quest of £10 per member on top. This is to ensure no band supplies false information, and will comply with the terms and conditions. NB. Bands outside a 20 mile radius of Band Quest venues will NOT Be required to play in the competition. Paying the deposit entitles the band to all the benefits and future opportunities associated with Band Quest. Please email adam@unifiedsounds.co.uk if you would like to discuss this aspect. If the band has not played Bloodstock in 2011 then they also stand a chance of being selected to play at Bloodstock Festival 2012 - 1 slot has been guaranteed by BOA!

Please note this is NOT for profit promotion merely aimed to benefit the promotion of the bands, the platform and the good causes that are helped by initiatives we create.

Its imperative you feel confident we are doing the job to a high standard and that you have fully understood how much effort and work goes into these CD's - please feel free to look at the previous CD campaign information which can be supplied by us or found here: www.bandquestuk.com/bq-historic-2010/fusion/

CD budget

We are building a transparent budget so please respect the complexity and variables of the figures below. This is a break even project and requires a massive effort from those people tasked with selling the CDs in 2012. When the costs and commitments have been met, remaining CDs will either be given away free or used to create a further opportunity for the bands who have been on the Bloodline CDs.

The CDs and related costs have been based on average of 18 bands per CD assuming track lengths are kept to average of 4 minutes. Typically bands have an average of 4.5 members in each band and based on an inclusive £5 per member fee and track position fee, we have created a budget as stated below. There has also been a small provision made for longer tracks by some bands and figures adjusted accordingly and based on £5 per minute or part thereof.

Based on a 4 minute track and 5 members per band the max cost here would be £50 contribution from any band achieving track 1 on a CD.

NB. Tracks will be positioned based on quality, speed of interest, style and thus the flow of the CD, bands level of participation and payment speed.
